Regla, Havana. (PI)- On the 13th, at 2:00 pm, members of the Republican Party of Cuba (PRC) met to commemorate the 85th anniversary of the birth of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Caridad García Carta, Municipal Director of the PRC, shared with those present aspects of King's life and work, and how his method of nonviolent struggle is a principle we must learn and adapt to our circumstances to defend our rights. Carta also stated that, "there are two paradigmatic examples, King and Mahatma Gandhi, who practiced nonviolent struggle, transforming it into an effective and powerful weapon against all forms of discrimination and segregation, which deeply wound the human spirit."
Note: After the activity ended, the opposition members Caridad García Carta, Kirenia Díaz Arguelles and Adalicia Navarro Moreno were strongly threatened by the officer who calls himself Francisco.
The activity took place at the home of Caridad Carta García, on Maceo Street # 411 between Céspedes and Agramonte, Regla.
