The Church of Our Lady of Sorrows on the Isle of Pines has been occupied.

Cuba, Isle of Pines. (Via telephone, audio at the end, PRC) - September 7, 2015, After three arrests, one in Las Tunas and two in Havana, and sent to Isle of Pines.

Mr. Adel López Nápoles, National Executive Director of the Republican Party of Cuba, has occupied the Church of Our Lady of Sorrows on the Isle of Pines, as part of the action that began on September 1, 2015, of entering churches to make a statement and draw the attention of the world and the Pope who is visiting the island to the reality of the Cuban people, along with him on the team, Yoandis Liranza Vilar Director of the PRC on the Isle of Pines, Aristides Reyes Blanco Vice director of the PRC and Jorge Luis Martínez Serrano Delegate of the PRC in the town of La Demajagua, both from the Isle of Pines.

The priest was detained to pressure him and has returned to the church, apparently out of solidarity with the activists. The hierarchy of the church in Havana informed him that insisting the activists remain in the church would authorize the SS to storm it.

We're told they're now being held incommunicado and hermetically sealed, with orders from the Bishop of Havana that they had to authorize the SS to enter. There's fear that, being Mexican, the priest might be afraid and agree.
