PRC and other opposition organizations on 10/12/2013 Human Rights Day

San Juan y Martínez, Pinar del Rio. (PI, video ) – Police had been stationed at the home of the provincial director of the Republican Party of Cuba in the besieged province since dawn, but activists, after commemorating the date, left the house and distributed the human rights declaration to the public. Police arrested the municipal delegate.

In Briones Montoto. ( Photos ) - The PRC delegation there also commemorated the date along with other organizations and distributed the declaration of human rights.

Manatí, Las Tunas. At the home of the director of the PRC in the municipality, Fidel Agüero Cedeño, the activity commemorating December 10th was held and had the participation of the delegation from the capital municipality of Las Tunas.

Velazco, Gibara, Holguín. The PRC delegation and the home of its director, Julio Cesar González Zaldívar, were the target of a protest organized by FLAMUR, IJR, and other organizations, as they commemorated the 65th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights on December 10th. In Banes, the spokesperson for the PRC in the municipality, Yoel Manuel Ochoa Diéguez, and the delegate of FLAMUR from the same municipality, Karina Martorell, who were in charge of the activity for that date, were detained from 11 am until 6 pm.

Holguín. ( Photos ) - In the municipal capital, Jorge Luis Recio Arias, director of the Republican Party of Cuba in the municipality, was attacked on the afternoon of International Human Rights Day by a member of the notorious Rapid Response Brigades. This individual, who is also the head of security for CDR #9 in 155th Street, is named Yosvani Cruz López, who shouted offensive words at opposition member Jorge Recio and is in the service of the current military regime that governs the island. Mr. Recio Arias can be contacted at +52 71 36 67. Despite the attack, the day was commemorated with the participation of FLAMUR, IJR, the Claridad Movement, LGBTA, and the PRC.
