On the eve of July 26, they crack down with violence and arrests against opposition members in Holguín.

Since the people showed with the uprising of July 11 that they no longer believe in the communist utopia, the murderous regime has finally abandoned its messianic disguise and revealed, with fierce repression, that they are nothing more than spawn of the Devil, willing to preserve their tyrannical and enslaving boot over the people, to continue their reign by force over those they see as cheap and enslaved labor, regardless of whether they have to kill, imprison, beat or disappear.

This past Sunday, July 25, 2021, 20-year-old Yisan Zamora Ricardo, Secretary of Young Workers in Holguín for the Independent Trade Union Association of Cuba and a member of the Republican Party of Cuba, was violently arrested by police and state security agents for protesting against the Cuban dictatorship along with an unknown individual who preceded him. He was taken to the unit known as El Anillo in the center of Holguín, where he was beaten. From there, he was taken to the infamous G2 torture center known as Pedernales, located 5 kilometers from the city. There, he suffered a series of cruel, inhuman, and degrading treatments. He was punched and slapped, stripped naked, and then forced to squat while being subjected to insults against his dignity, using language typical of prison inmates and sexual deviants.

His father, opposition leader Ramón Zamora Rodríguez, Secretary in Holguín of the Independent Trade Union Association of Cuba and Director of the Republican Party of Cuba in Holguín, was intercepted by state security on the way to the El Anillo police station while traveling with other members to demand his release. There, only Zamora Rodríguez was violently arrested and taken to Pedernales. He wasn't beaten, but some jailers and state security agents threatened to beat him to force him into the humiliation of putting his hands behind his back. The Lieutenant Colonel in charge of the torture center refused, but during a search, while he was already naked, he was violently subjected by two jailers to the humiliation of squatting twice. According to these torturers, it was part of the regulations. This hellish place has cases of coronavirus, and yet they are still admitting new people into these walled-off cells where the symptoms of COVID-19 are visible, and they don't seem to care about the forced spread. of this deadly disease among the detainees, according to them, to have fewer criminals in the country, forgetting to mention that the real criminals in Cuba make up the elite that enslaves the people.

Yisan Zamora Ricardo and Ramón Zamora Rodríguez were released this Wednesday, July 28, at 5:24 p.m., after three days on hunger strike in response to violence, injustice, arbitrary arrest, and the deprivation of their inalienable rights.

Yisan still has bruises, abrasions, and swelling on his face and at the level of his left eye where the conjunctiva shows blood clots due to the brute force of the blows at that level.

We call on Human Rights Organizations to pay special attention to Cuba, because we denounce and justify that since the outbreak of July 11, the regime has maintained a vengeful, violent, and repressive war against the Cuban people, especially against young people and the Cuban opposition in general, where they are threatened with a whole host of atrocities, and because to this day, every corner of Cuba is heavily besieged by military and police in civilian clothes, armed with sticks and chains to force the people to tolerate the dictatorship of hunger and death, which today the people, disgusted by lies, despise.

We denounce that if within 14 days it becomes evident that Yisan or Ramón contracted coronavirus in this torture center, where detainees with coronavirus abound, they are guilty of the contagion and its regrettable consequences, and that it was evidently premeditated in order to murder these opponents, covering up the murderous hand with the weapon with which they are decimating the Cuban people today, COVID-19.
