A branch of the Republican Party of Cuba is founded in Bogotá

Bogotá, Colombia (PRC). Patriots founded the first branch of the Republican Party of Cuba in Colombia in Bogotá. Their aim was to unite and organize people interested in Cuban freedom. Mr. Pompilio Portuondo, who took charge of the branch, told us that Venezuelan comrades had joined to participate in the struggle for the freedom of both nations.

The branch director, Mr. Pompilio Portuondo, informed us that among their objectives are to counteract the propaganda of the Castro-communist dictatorship in Colombia, exposing the fabricated lie of the Cuban paradise, the crimes, abuses, and violations of all points of the Universal Charter of Human Rights, using state terrorism against its people, imprisonment, executions without trial, rigged political trials, coups, forced exile, and record numbers of political prisoners, both men and women. The Venezuelan people are suffering the same fate due to the invasion and deployment of military agents of the Castro regime.

The result of the failure of Cuba's military regime is a permanent economic crisis, a people mired in misery, demoralized, and devoid of ethical and moral values. It is estimated that 30% of the population has emigrated, and the levels of homelessness and unemployment are shameful. Public health and education, tools used by the military dictatorship, are a deception of the world and its own people. The same suffering has extended to the Venezuelan people, forcing more than 3 million Venezuelans to emigrate.
