Velasco, Holguin. (Lagrimasdecuba.blogspot.com) _ Sorania Cruz Rosales, Director of the Republican Party of Cuba in Velasco and Secretary of Working Women of the Independent Trade Union Association of Cuba, has been at the Velasco Polyclinic since early this morning with her son, who suffered an accident and was urgently referred to the Octavio de la Concepción y la Pedraja Pediatric Hospital. However, at 7:22 pm, she was informed that she had to transport her son to the aforementioned Pediatric Hospital herself, as they did not have ambulances available for other cases, only one ambulance for COVID-19 cases.

It is frustrating that accident victims or patients with other conditions who require urgent transfer to major hospitals have to rely on private individuals whose rates are always high, and at this time of night, the cost is exorbitant. What fate awaits Sorania and her son, and all those who lack the financial resources to pay for a transfer to a hospital?

Those who preach egalitarianism from the podiums and demand sacrifices they don't make alongside the people, dedicate themselves to buying vast fleets of cars for tourism and the police, but they lack both the dignity and the humanism to show solidarity with the needs and deficiencies of the people, and to invest in the necessary purchase of ambulances for the immediate assistance of the sick population of the country. Because of this scourge of Cuban public health, hundreds of Cubans die due to the inadequacy of an obsolete system, which is dying alongside the people it is killing, under the cloak of shortages in all sectors and the justification of its ineptitude.
